Laurence put a movie on and made them popcorn while waiting for the movie to start. The kids wanted to watch Beauty and the Beast so that’s what he put on. Even though it was a children’s movie, it had Laurence amazed and in deep thought. He thought it was crazy how one woman can change a beast into a loving and caring man. Kind of like how Sharice did with him.

When the movie was over, he went upstairs to take a shower and get dress. He went into his closet and put on a navy Armani Collezioni suit with black oxfords dress shoes. As he was walking out of the closet, Sharice was sitting on the bed with a concerned look on her face.

“Where are you going?” she asked.

“I’m going down to the club, ya know? See how everything running,” he said as he slipped on his Rolex.

“The club? When did you decide this?” she asked.

“Earlier. I won’t be long. Just a couple hours,” he said.

“You decided this without talking to me? And how’s your arm? Are you even okay to go and work a club in the condition that you’re in?” she asked in an upset tone.

“My arm feels fine and I didn’t talk to you about it because I didn’t think it was that big of a deal,” he said.

“Not that big of a deal? Seriously? Did you forget that someone tried to end your life? That’s a big deal to me,” she said with an attitude as she folded her arms.

“So what you want me to do? Stay in the house just because I got shot, like I’m some scared lil boy or something? Is that it? I have a business to run. A couple bullets won’t stop me from handling my business,” he said.

“But it wasn’t a couple of bullets, Laurence. Who’s to say when you walk out that door that you’ll live? You don’t know if the people that did that to you are still out there or not,” she said.

“So, hold on. It’s okay for me to get out of the house to bring my family to the park, but it’s not okay for me to go to the club? A club which is my responsibility,” he said.

“We’re your responsibility, Laurence,” she said.

“I’m not going to this with you. I’ll be back later,” he said then walked out of the room and left her in tears.

He went downstairs and grabbed his keys. Before he left, he went to hug his kids goodbye then closed the door behind him and locked it. He felt bad about how he stormed off on Sharice but he had to. He couldn’t afford to stay in the house just to satisfy her needs.

Seeing how she dealt with the situation after he was shot broke his heart. He saw tears run down her face too many times and swore that it would be the last tear she ever shed. He was going to the club to meet up with Ricardo.
